Don Shares Learning from Ralph Ellison, the Brilliance of the Spoken Word, at NYU

Don, an NYU alumnus, marked the 70th anniversary of the publication of Ralph Ellison’s iconic novel, Invisible Man, during NYU’s alumni weekend in October 2023. Ellison, an award-winning author, served as the Albert Schweitzer Professor for the Humanities at NYU from 1970-1979. Don, a former student and mentee of Ellison, shared the stage with NYU Professor Michael Dinwiddie, Gallatin School of Individualized Study, in paying homage to Ralph Ellison and the state of the American vernacular, books and society.
